I help individuals, families, companies, churches, and other well-wishers provide quality wholesale used books to organizations and communities that need them.
This initiative goes a long way in improving the reading culture here in Kenya. I started this initiative to help support literacy in Kenya for the vast communities where accessing books is almost impossible.
Through Books Point Bookstore, I source and supply used books in wholesale quantities for sponsored book projects.
If you want to help a school build a small library, provide books to a children’s home, establish a family library, support a church reading program, or help a community library add more titles to its shelves, I can help you put the books together.
The idea is simple: you sponsor the books, and I handle the sourcing, preparation, and dispatch.
I started offering this service after working with individuals who wanted to support others with books but needed an easier way to find suitable titles in larger quantities.
Rather than searching for books one at a time, sponsors can work with me to create a book package suited to the needs of the intended recipient.
I keep the process straightforward.
First, you tell me who you would like to support, and if you already know, the type or number of books you would like to provide.
I then help you determine what kind of used books would be appropriate.
This could be children’s storybooks for a school, fiction and non-fiction for a community library, educational books for a learning Centre, or a mixture of titles for a church, children’s home, or family reading project.
I source the books from our used-book collection, sort them, and put together a suitable wholesale package.
Once the books are ready, we arrange collection or delivery depending on the location and size of the project.
For larger projects, I can also work with the sponsor to discuss the recipient’s needs before preparing the books.
This helps ensure that the package is useful rather than simply being a random collection of titles.
I can supply sponsored wholesale used books to a variety of organizations, groups, and community projects.
Schools
Schools can utilize sponsored books to develop classroom reading corners, supplement existing libraries, offer students access to more fiction, children’s literature, educational materials, and general reading.
A sponsor may, for example, choose to provide a collection of children’s storybooks to a primary school or a mixture of fiction and non-fiction titles for older students.
Community Libraries
Small libraries and community reading spaces often need to expand their collections without spending heavily on new books.
Used books can provide an affordable way to add hundreds of titles to a library’s shelves. I can help put together mixed packages or focus on particular categories depending on what the library needs.
Churches and Church Libraries
Churches can use sponsored books for church libraries, Sunday school programs, youth groups, family reading programs, and other community activities.
A sponsor can choose a particular category, such as children’s books, Christian books, inspirational titles, or general fiction and non-fiction.
Children’s Homes
Children’s homes can benefit from age-appropriate books that give children opportunities to read for education, entertainment, and personal development.
For these projects, I can help select books according to the children’s age groups and interests.
Reading Clubs and Community Reading Groups
Reading clubs can use sponsored books to build shared collections that members can read and exchange.
A sponsored package can be tailored around fiction, non-fiction, children’s literature, young adult books, or a mixture of categories.
Community-Based Organizations
Community-based organizations sometimes run educational, youth, family, or community development programs where access to books can be useful.
If an organization needs books for a specific project, I can help determine what type of used-book package would be appropriate.
NGOs and Other Organizations
NGOs and other organizations working with communities may also need books for educational programs, reading initiatives, community centres, or other projects.
I can work with the organization or its sponsor to put together a suitable bulk book package.
Families and Family Reading Projects
Sponsored books do not always have to go to a large organization.
A family, family literacy project, or community-supported household can also receive a sponsored collection of books.
For example, someone living in Kenya or abroad may want to sponsor a collection of children’s books for a family that does not have access to many books at home.
The exact selection depends on the needs of the recipient, but our used-book collection can include a wide range of categories.
Some of the categories we can consider include:
• Children’s storybooks
• Picture books
• Teen and young adult fiction
• Fiction novels
• Non-fiction books
• Educational books
• Christian and inspirational books
• Self-help and personal development books
• Dictionaries and reference books
• General interest books
• Mixed reading collections
If you already know what the recipient needs, tell me when you make your inquiry.
If you are unsure, that is also fine. Give me some information about the intended readers and I can help you determine what type of collection would make sense.
One of the main advantages of working with Books Point is that I can supply books in larger quantities rather than asking you to purchase individual titles one at a time.
The size of the package can depend on the project.
For example, a sponsor may want to provide:
These are examples rather than fixed packages. I can discuss the quantity and categories with you and prepare a quotation based on the specific project.
For many organizations, the cost of purchasing hundreds of new books can be a major barrier.
Used books provide another option. A good used book can continue to be useful long after its first owner has finished reading it.
By supplying books that are still in readable condition, I can help sponsors stretch their budgets and provide larger collections than they might otherwise be able to afford.
I also believe that a book does not become less valuable simply because it has had a previous owner.
What matters is whether the book is still suitable for the person who will read it.
That is why I focus on sourcing books that are in reasonable, usable condition and selecting them according to the needs of the intended readers.
You do not have to know exactly which titles to buy.
This is particularly useful when you are sponsoring books for an organization you do not personally know.
For example, you might tell me:
“I want to sponsor books for a primary school with children between the ages of 7 and 12.”
From there, I can help determine an appropriate mix of children’s literature, storybooks, educational material, and other suitable reading.
Similarly, if you are supporting a community library, we can discuss whether the collection should focus on fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, personal development, educational titles, or a broader mixture.
My goal is to make the process easier for the sponsor while making sure the recipient receives books that are genuinely useful.
You do not have to be physically located near Books Point to sponsor a book project.
If you are a Kenyan living abroad, a friend of Kenya, a family member, church, company, or other well-wisher based outside the country, you can also arrange a sponsored book project for an organization or community in Kenya.
You can tell me who you would like to support, where they are located, and what kind of books you have in mind.
We can then discuss the available books, quantities, pricing, and delivery arrangements.
This can be particularly useful for people who want to support a school, children’s home, church, library, or family in Kenya but are not able to source and deliver the books themselves.
Sometimes people already have books they want to give away. In other cases, they want to support a particular organization but do not have suitable books available.
This service is designed mainly for the second situation.
Instead of asking you to search through your own shelves or find hundreds of books individually, I can source a wholesale collection from our used-book inventory based on the needs of the project.
You are essentially sponsoring a ready-to-use collection of books.
This makes the process particularly useful for larger projects where the recipient needs a substantial number of books.
I am documenting the sponsored book projects I complete so that people can see how the service works in practice.
As the number of projects grows, this section will become a record of the organizations, families, and communities that have received sponsored book collections through Books Point.
Each project may include information such as:
• Who the books were supplied to
• Where the project took place
• The number of books supplied
• The types of books included
• How the project was sponsored
• Photos where appropriate
• A short description of the project
I have already completed some sponsored book projects, and I will continue adding them here as I work with more sponsors and recipients.

What is a sponsored wholesale used-book project?
It is a book-supply arrangement where an individual, organization, company, family, or other sponsor pays for a bulk collection of used books intended for a particular recipient or community project.
Books Point sources and prepares the books according to the requirements of the project.
What is the minimum number of books I can sponsor?
The quantity can vary depending on the project. I can discuss your requirements and recommend an appropriate package based on the intended recipient, available budget, and type of books needed.
For larger projects, wholesale quantities such as 100, 250, 500, or 1,000+ books can be arranged.
Can I choose the organization that receives the books?
Yes, you can identify the school, library, church, children’s home, family, community organization, or other recipient you would like to support.
Can I choose the type of books?
Yes, you can tell me the categories, age groups, subjects, or general type of reading material you would like the package to contain.
I will then work with you to determine what is available and suitable.
Can I sponsor books for a school or organization outside Nairobi?
Yes. Books Point is based in Ruaka, Kiambu County, and I can discuss delivery arrangements for sponsored book projects in other parts of Kenya. Delivery arrangements and costs will depend on the size and destination of the project.
Can someone outside Kenya sponsor books for an organization in Kenya?
Yes. If you are based outside Kenya and would like to support an organization, family, or community project in Kenya, contact me and we can discuss the available options.
Do you only supply books to registered organizations?
Not necessarily. The recipient can be an organization, community project, family, or other group with a genuine need for books.
If you are unsure whether your project is suitable, contact me and tell me what you are trying to achieve.
If you would like to help an organization or community gain access to more books, I would be happy to discuss the project with you.
You do not need to know exactly what books you need before contacting me.
Simply tell me:
• Who you would like to support
• Where they are located
• Approximately how many books you would like to sponsor
• The type of readers who will use the books
• Any preferred book categories
• Your approximate budget, if you have one
I can then help you work out what type of used-book package would be suitable.
Whether you want to sponsor 100 books for a small community project or thousands of books for a larger organization, I can help put the collection together for you.
